Delicious Turkish Foods

It is said that three major kinds of cuisine exist in the world; Turkish, Chinese, and French. Fully justifying its reputation, Turkish Cuisine is always a pleasant surprise for the visitor.

Let's start a kind of Turkish soup 'Yoghurt Soup'.

Rice......... 1/3 cup
Water...... .4 cups
Salt.......... 2 teaspoons
Flour......... 3 tablespoons
Yogurt.......1 2/3 cups
Egg........... 1 ea.
Butter........4 tablespoons
Mint...........1 ½ tablespoons

Wash the rice and place in a saucepan together with water and salt and cook for about 30 minutes, until tender. Blend the flour into yogurt in a seperate dish, break in the egg, mix and warm the mixture by adding a couple of spoonfulls of the hot soup. Gradually add the yogurt mix to the saucepan, stirring continously and keep stirring until it comes to boil and then cook for 10 minutes. Melt butter or margarine in a pan, add mint, stir a couple of times and remove from heat and slowly sprinkle over the soup.

As everybody knows, we like meaty foods and they are our chief meal. If you love delicious and spicy meaty foods 'Shish Kebap' is gonna be your favorite Turkish food.

1 Kg. Lamb Meat (From Thigh Or Shoulder) Cut Into Small Pieces
4 Tomatoes
2 Green Peppers

Cut tomatoes into large chunks removing the inner soft part. Cut the green peppers in half, remove seeds and cut into smaller pieces. Skewer a piece of meat, tomato, and green pepper succesively. Cook on a barbecue, 3 to 4 minutes each side.
